The game behind the box score.
The live layer for NHL props. Projected shots on goal for every skater, prop lines graded hit or dead, and tonight's ice time measured against the season norm — while the game is still on.
Team xG is free in a dozen places. The player-level live read is the part nobody else builds.

Hockey only. While it is happening.
Projected SOG, graded live
Every skater carries a projected shots-on-goal number that moves with the game, not a pre-game guess frozen at puck drop. Add a line and it reads hit or dead as the periods go — aware of who is a forward and who is a defender, and of how the night is actually going.
Workload deviation
How much ice time is a player getting tonight against their season norm? That gap moves a large share of prop outcomes and it is invisible on a box score until the game is over. Puckflow tracks it while the game is on, for every skater on the sheet.
Shot maps and xG, per player
Team-level expected goals are free in a dozen places, and we are not pretending otherwise. The difference here is resolution: every shot placed and weighted, the timeline that shows when a game turned, and the same numbers broken out by the player you actually have money on.
Built from the inside.
I played hockey through college, coached a high school team to a state championship, and spent years co-hosting the Fantasy Golf Degenerates podcast with Kenny Kim, building the kind of projected-ownership analytics serious DFS bettors actually trust.
Puckflow is what happens when those two lives meet: real-time NHL analytics built by someone who knows the game from the inside, for the bettors and fans who already know it too.

Everything on the site is free right now. Paid tiers open for the season, and whoever subscribes early keeps the price they start at. Leave an email if you want to hear when that happens.
The honest answers.
What sport?
Just hockey. Intentionally. No multi-sport noise — every feature is built for the NHL specifically.
Do I need an account?
There isn't one. Everything on the site today — the games board, live scores, shot maps, xG timelines, matchup analytics, the full game page — is open to anyone with the link. Accounts arrive with paid tiers.
What does it cost?
Nothing today. Everything is free while the season gets going. Paid tiers open for the 2026-27 season, and anyone subscribing early keeps the price they start at for as long as they stay. There is no checkout yet, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to cancel.
Where does the data come from?
Public NHL APIs (api-web.nhle.com — the same feed NHL.com uses) plus NHL Edge for skating speed. Expected goals come from our own model: a logistic regression over shot location, angle, shot type, strength, rebounds and empty nets.
Is the xG model calibrated?
Yes, as of September 2026 — and here is what that is worth. The coefficients used to be hand-set guesses, and when we finally tested them against the 2025-26 season they scored worse than predicting the league average on every shot. They are now fitted on all 119,116 unblocked attempts of that season and validated on games the fit never saw. Predicted goals match actual goals across the season, and the model beats that league-average baseline by about 7% on Brier score. Seven percent is a real model and a modest one: it can see where a shot came from, not whether the goalie was screened or the puck had just crossed the slot. Totals over a game or a season are trustworthy. A single shot’s third decimal is not. The full report, including the reliability table and everything still wrong with it, is in the repo at docs/research/xg-calibration.md.
What makes it different from MoneyPuck or Natural Stat Trick?
Those are excellent and free, and they work at team level: who deserved to win. Puckflow works at player level while the game is running — projected shots on goal per skater, prop lines graded hit or dead, and ice time against the season norm. That live player layer is the part nobody else offers.
Will you add other sports?
No. Hockey is the entire focus. If it expands, it expands deeper into hockey — junior, international, AHL — not sideways into other sports.
What's next?
Accounts and payments, in time for the season. The xG calibration pass is done; Game Score and the pace projections are next in line for the same treatment. The email list hears first.
